Overview

Thank you for expressing an interest in PWA. Investing in your children's education is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime and one that requires great thought. These are formative years, and the relationships made, through friendships and interactions with teachers, will shape them for the future. It is critical that those sharing the responsibility for your children's education also share the values that are of primary importance in your home. At PWA we offer a nurturing environment that fosters sharp learning skills, a top-of- the-line curriculum that offers the best in education.

The academic year for all classes commences in April and ends in March.

Admissions are open throughout the year, but are subject to availability. Your child can start school at any time during the academic year, except if seeking admission into ICSE Classes IX & X and ISC Classes XI & XII, As the academic year commences in April, maximum enrolments take place in the month Jan-Feb. We advise that you plan and complete the admission of your child in advance to avoid the rush period, as the Admissions Team reviews applications for new admissions from January each year.

In order to take your interest for admission forward, we encourage you to make an appointment with our Admission Counsellors and visit our campus. Our Admission Counsellors look forward to welcome you to our campus for a tour and providing details about the school, curricular and extracurricular activities.

Alternatively you can also fill the enquiry form or the registration form online. Once the form is filled, please take a printout of the same, fill in the details and submit the hard copy of the completed form to the school.

Procedure and Requirements

The Registration Form, Prospectus (contains rules and regulations) costing INR 100 for Classes Play Group to X and INR 300 for classes XI to XII.

  • Admissions for classes I to XII is granted on the basis of qualifying tests and Interaction made with Child and their parents
  • Admissions for Play Group, Nursery and K.G. is granted on the basis of interaction with the authorities

Carry the following documents along for further process of admission.

  1. Original Birth Certificate (Play Group, Nursery, KG and 1st).
  2. Transfer Certificate
  3. Promotion Record.
  4. Registration Certificate. (in case of IX, X,XI, XII of the council).
  5. Attendance record of the previous school.
  6. Two passport size photographs.

After the completion of the admission formalities the students will be allocated to the desired or suggested class by principal.

Examination

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations conducts three examinations, namely, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE –Class X); The Indian School Certificate (ISC – Class XII) and the Certificate in Vocational Education (CVE - Year 12). The subject choices and syllabuses prescribed for these examinations are varied and aimed at nurturing the unique gifts of individual pupils.

  • THE ICSE (CLASS X) The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education has been designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, through the medium of English. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for this examination. For more details.
  • THE ISC (CLASS XII) The Indian School Certificate Examination is an examination, through the medium of English, designed in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year 10) examination or its equivalent examination. For more details.

Promotion Policy

The following shall apply for the promotion of the students in our school.

  1. Class IX and X
  2. Promotion criteria as laid down by council for the award of an ICSE (Class X) Pass Certificate.

    Internal Examination

    It is our responsibility to ensure the promotion of students on the pattern of the council on the basis of cumulative achievement level of the student throughout the year in the subject he/she has been registered for. For promotions a candidate is required to have obtained at least 33% marks in five subjects including English on a cumulative average and a minimum attendance of 75% of the working days. Promotions on trial will not be granted from Class IX to X.

    Awards and Conditions for Awards

    1. PASS CERTIFICATES will be awarded to candidates who at one and the same examination have entered for six subjects and have attained the passing standard in at least five subjects which must include the subject English. Provided that no candidate, except as otherwise exempted by the Council, shall be awarded a Pass Certificate unless in addition to fulfilling the conditions above he/she has attained a pass grade in SUPW and Community Services as examined/assessed internally in our school.
    2. SUPPLEMENTARY PASS CERTIFICATES will be awarded to candidates who have obtained PASS CERTIFICATE and who will appear in a subsequent examination and attain the pass standard in one or more subjects.
    3. STATEMENT OF MARKS will be issued to all candidates who appeared for the examination.
    4. The pass marks for each subject is 33%.

    Internal Examination

PASS CERTIFICATES will be awarded to candidates who at one and the same examination have entered for six subjects and have attained the passing standard in four or more subjects which must include the subject English and have attained a pass grade in SUPW and Community Services as examined/assessed internally in our school.
    2. SUPPLEMENTARY PASS CERTIFICATES will be awarded to candidates who have obtained PASS CERTIFICATE and who will appear in a subsequent examination and attain the pass standard in one or more subjects.
    3. STATEMENT OF MARKS will be issued to all candidates who appeared for the examination.
    4. The pass marks for each subject is 35%.

Non-Scholastic aspects

  1. Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW):
  2. It is assessed internally in our organisation as per the norms of the council and the rating find a place in ICSE and ISC certificates. Suggested SUPW and Community Services activities have already been evolved. We provide opportunities for some other activities as well.

  3. Literary activities – Debates, Elocution, Declamation, Recitation, Creative Writing, etc.
  4. Scientific Activities – Club activities, Experimentation, Exploration, etc.
  5. Cultural activities – Music, Drama, Dance, Art, etc.
  6. Adventure activities – Mountaineering, Rafting, Hiking, etc.
  7. Students will be required to select at least one activity from the literary, scientific, cultural and adventure activities offered by a school. the students could participate in more than one activity subject to the availability of time and opportunity.

    Co – Curricular Activities (both indoor and outdoor): would, as a matter of routine, be provided by the school. Students can select any one of those activities offered by the school for evaluation. He / She could, however, participate in more than one activity if time and opportunities permit.

Fee Rules

  1. Fee is to be deposited in the school’s Bank A/c in advance between 1 st and 12 th of the stipulated month, according to the fee schedule, printed on the back cover in cash. Payment by Cheque will be accepted between 1 st and 9 th of the stipulated month only.
  2. If the Fee Collection Day happens to be a bank holiday, fee will be collected by the bank on next day without any late payment.
  3. Fee should be paid at the bank along with Bill (duly filled in all respect) between the following timings :-

  4. In case, the parents fail to pay the fee between 1 st and 12 th of the stipulated month, the late payment fine of Rs.100/- only would be charged and the payment can be made in the bank on 24 th and 25 th of that particular month by cash only.
  5. Irrespective of the time of admission, fee is payable for the whole academic year.
  6. Cheques are to be made in the favour of – PLAY WAY ACADEMY. Only A/c payee cheques will be accepted. Outstation cheques are not allowed. In case of, some unforeseen circumstances the cheque gets dishonoured, Rs.500/- would be charged as fine along with the due fee.
  7. Conveyance fee has to be paid along with the monthly fee. The conveyance fee would be charged for the full year (for 12 months). Once the bus/ Van facility has been availed by the child, the bus/ van fee has to be paid till the end of the academic year.
